Up and coming pop duo, Vigil, masterfully puts pen to paper that exact string of questions and mental musings one tends to process during a breakup.

Comprised of members Josh Wright and Morgan Saulsberry, Vigil continues to make a name for themselves with the carthartic single that is sure to be a favorite on everyone’s “breakup” playlist.
The inspiration for “What You Came For”, came to Morgan after a blindsiding, yet cryptic phone call from a guy she dated. A call that left her with a lot of questions about what exactly happened. “I didn’t know how to move past it all, when I didn’t fully understand what had even happened. Writing this song was the only way I could process and move forward after everything ended,” Morgan said in a recent interview.

A song based on heartbreak and rejection, “What You Came For” offers its listener a story that is as relatable as it is tragic. This epic breakup song will you have you on your way to processing that one relationship we’ve all been in that left us questioning everything.

The emotional single was produced by artist and producer Avi Turner, whose expertise aided Morgan and Josh in bringing the vision and the heart of the song to life. With vocal performances as strong as the subject matter, both Morgan and Josh prove themselves as a force to be reckoned with among today’s breakthrough pop talent.

This song is for anyone who has ever been ghosted, heartbroken, or lied to. Sometimes you have to learn to move on even when you don’t have any of the answers.
