Blink 182 is back.

Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus have reunited with the band’s founding member Tom DeLonge to announce a 2023 world tour along with a brand new single, Edging (October 14). This will be their first collaboration since DeLonge departed from the band in 2015.

In the years following the departure, Travis Barker became a prolific session drummer and tabloid presence. His collaborations with Machine Gun Kelly, Post Malone, Willow and others have kept his talent cemented in the music scene. He also married Kourtney Kardashian in 2022 after a whirlwind romance with the reality star.

Tom Hoppus continued with Blink 182. The band hired Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio and toured throughout the 2010’s. They released two albums under the new lineup, 2016’s California and 2019’s Nine. Hoppus began hosting After School Radio on Apple Music 1 and in 2021, he revealed a cancer diagnosis. He beat cancer a year later and continued his career.

In an interview with People in 2022, Hoppus revealed that DeLonge and Barker visited him before he started chemotherapy. “It was the first time that all three of us were in the same room in, like, five years,” Hoppus said. “It’s actually better than it used to be. There was no agenda. There were no lingering grudges. It felt very back to what it should be: three friends sitting in a room.… Everybody’s in a really great place right now.”

Whatever the reason for the reunion may be, 90’s kids like me are excited as hell.

The band made the announcement in a raunchy video (below) that honestly is completely fitting coming from them. Tickets go on sale in July.
