Actress Angie Harmon (Law & Order, Rizzoli & Isles) said Monday that an instacart delivery driver shot and killed her beloved dog. The tragic event unfolded over Easter weekend, shortly after the delivery driver dropped off an order at the home of the “Rizzoli & Isles” star.
In a poignant Instagram post, Harmon recounted the sequence of events, claiming that the driver shot Oliver after delivering the food, knowing that he wasn’t being recorded as their ring camera was charging inside the house. The actress alleged that the driver claimed self-defense despite not having any injuries from the alleged dog attack.
Identifying the driver as someone shopping under the identity of a woman named Merle, Harmon expressed her family’s devastation over the loss of Oliver, emphasizing that the incident had left them completely traumatized. The actress also shared a screenshot of the delivery confirmation, which displayed a photo of the woman’s identity used by the driver.
Instacart responded swiftly to the incident, suspending the delivery driver’s profile and launching an investigation in collaboration with the authorities. The company stated that they have no tolerance for violence and are fully cooperating with the investigation.

Authorities confirmed that they had investigated the incident but did not file any charges against the delivery driver. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that the driver claimed self-defense, stating that he fired a single gunshot to defend himself from a dog attack.
Harmon’s celebrity friends and followers rallied around her in the comments, expressing shock and horror at the incident. Many encouraged her to take action against the driver and the police department, urging her to use her platform to seek justice for Oliver.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion and understanding, especially in moments of distress and tragedy.
