Comedy fans, rejoice! Kristen Wiig is back, and this time, she’s bringing her iconic “Saturday Night Live” character, the Target Lady, to life once again.

In a series of uproarious new commercials for Target’s upcoming Target Circle Week, Wiig’s beloved character is back in action, bringing her signature enthusiasm and quirky charm to the retail giant.

The commercials, part of a campaign that includes 12 spots, feature Wiig sporting her classic bowl-cut wig as she navigates the aisles of Target, extolling the virtues of the Target Circle program. With her trademark energy and off-the-wall humor, Wiig delivers lines that are sure to leave viewers in stitches.

In one scene, Wiig marvels at the wonders of working at Target, while in another, she hilariously imagines a world where shoppers are so immersed in Target Circle deals that they can’t bear to wake up from the dream. The ads also feature Wiig interacting with confused customers, including one memorable moment where she questions the presence of a bearded man who bears a striking resemblance to Abe Lincoln.

The Target Lady character first appeared during Wiig’s tenure on “Saturday Night Live” and quickly became a fan favorite for her zany antics and unique pronunciation of “Target” as “Terget.” In some sketches, Wiig’s character is joined by Justin Timberlake, who plays her equally eccentric friend, “classic” Peg.

Target’s decision to bring back the Target Lady for Target Circle Week is sure to delight fans of Wiig’s comedy. Lisa Roath, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Target, expressed the company’s excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Like so many, we’re big fans of Kristen Wiig and her iconic Target Lady character from ‘Saturday Night Live.’ So as we prepare to introduce the new Target Circle and thousands of new deals during Target Circle Week, it’s only fitting that we partnered with Kristen to create some memorable new laughs courtesy of the one and only Target Lady.”

For Wiig, reprising the role of the Target Lady was a special experience. “Target Lady is incredibly special to me because it’s one of the characters I created at the Groundlings and ended up on ‘SNL.’ She definitely loves Target! I mean, who doesn’t?” said Wiig. “It was so fun to bring her back after all this time, and we had so much fun imagining the world Target Lady sees inside the store today.”

Target Circle Week is set to run from April 7 to April 13, so be sure to keep an eye out for Wiig’s hilarious commercials during that time. And as Wiig prepares to host “Saturday Night Live” for the fifth time, joining the ranks of the elite “five-timers club,” fans can expect even more laughs from this comedy powerhouse.
