The highly anticipated first trailer for “Joker Folie à Deux” has finally arrived, promising a thrilling blend of musical theatrics and captivating performances by Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.

Unveiled during CinemaCon, the trailer sets the stage for the sequel, which is scheduled to hit theaters exactly five years after its predecessor. In this nearly two-and-a-half-minute teaser, Phoenix embodies the gaunt and disheveled Arthur Fleck, also known as Joker, as he navigates life in Arkham State Hospital for the murder of Robert De Niro’s character in the previous film.

Gaga’s character, a fellow patient at the hospital, quickly captures Joker’s interest, setting the scene for a dynamic and chaotic love story between Joker and Harley Quinn. The trailer hints at a world influenced by classic films like “Singing in the Rain” and “The Wizard of Oz,” where the characters’ lives unfold through music and dance.

As Joker reflects on his transformed life, he credits Gaga’s character for bringing happiness and love back into his world. The trailer is a tantalizing glimpse into their vibrant and off-kilter world, promising a tale of love, madness, and self-discovery.

The release of the trailer follows the unveiling of the first poster, featuring Phoenix and Gaga in their iconic clown makeup, dancing in a spotlight under the caption, “the world is a stage.” This imagery suggests that Harley and Joker will perform together for the world to see, a theme reiterated throughout the trailer.
