In case you haven’t heard, due to the recent actions of Kanye West, he is now banned from performing at this year’s Grammy Awards.

A rep for the artist confirmed to Variety that it was due to the artists “concerning online behavior.” The rep went on to confirm that the artist received the phone call informing him of the decision Friday night.

West is up for five Grammy awards this year. The decision has largely been praised as concerns continue to be raised over his behavior in recent months. While West is no stranger to using awards ceremonies to deliver his personal opinions, it has been said he may have used the stage to continue his recent harassment of comedian, Pete Davidson, who is famously dating Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

While Davidson has been the center of Kanye’s anger, the decision could also be due to his recent interactions with Grammy host, Trevor Noah. Ye was banned for 24 hours from Instagram for using a racial slur against Noah in a post regarding comments the “Daily Show” host made about his split with Kardashian.

This 64th Annual Grammy Awards will take place live from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas and hosted by Trevor Noah. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
