The music giant announced via Twitter that the program is a “first-of-its-kind, pilot initiative for our company, designed to open doors to music education and careers for the next generation of music leaders.”
Aspiring musicians and entrepreneurs can apply for the new program this 2022-23 academic season.
Scholarships payments will be sent directly to the recipient’s university and will range between $3,000 and $20,000 per school year. The amount given will depend on the location of the student’s university or college, whether it is private or state, and the student’s degree program is.

The generous program is a partnership between Sony Music Group and the Institute of International Education (IIE) and it doesn’t stop with scholarships. The recipients may be given other opportunities from Sony to aid in their professional development, such as mentorships or unpaid internships.
