The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced an eclectic and star-studded list of nominees for its 2024 induction, with ten out of fifteen acts appearing on the ballot for the first time. The list showcases a diverse range of artists and bands, reflecting the wide spectrum of music that the Hall of Fame honors.

Among the first-time nominees are notable figures such as Mariah Carey, renowned for her vocal range and holiday classics; Cher, the Goddess of Pop and a pioneer in the use of Auto-Tune as an artistic tool; and Foreigner, a rock band known for dominating rock & roll radio with hits that have become embedded in pop culture. Other debut nominees include the influential funk legends Kool & the Gang, British singer-songwriter Peter Frampton, rock and soul artist Lenny Kravitz, Britpop icons Oasis, the soulful Sade, and the unique voice of Sinéad O’Connor. Additionally, Ozzy Osbourne is recognized for his solo career, following his previous induction with Black Sabbath.

Returning nominee Mary J. Blige is also on the list, marking her second time being considered for induction. This year’s nomination process emphasizes the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s commitment to celebrating artists and bands that have significantly impacted the music landscape, regardless of their genre.

The ceremony, scheduled to take place in Cleveland, Ohio, will not only include the induction of these nominees but will also be livestreamed on Disney+ and have a special broadcast airing on ABC, available on Hulu the following day. The final list of inductees will be announced in late April, offering fans and the artists themselves a moment of anticipation and excitement​
