Presley Tennant

Must Read

For singer-songwriter Presley Tennant, NBC’s ‘The Voice’ was only the beginning…

Between California and Nashville, this 19 year old vocal powerhouse is making a name for herself in country music.

Bridge: We’re so excited to have you! First things first, tell us who you are…

PT: Hey! My name is Presley Tennant and I’m a 19-year old singer songwriter. I come from a small horse-town in Southern California called Norco. I started to take singing seriously when I was about ten years old. At that time, I was in a girl group until I was about 12 or 13 then continued on my journey solo. When I was about 16, I landed a spot on The Voice and now I’m traveling back and forth between California and Nashville to do what I love.

Bridge: The Voice! I’m sure you’re about tired of being asked about it but making it on the show is a feat in and of itself, but to be finalist? If it’s possible, can you describe that experience for us?

PT: Being on the Voice was such an incredible experience! Coming from a small town, there aren’t many people around me that do music as a profession, so when I got to the show, thats all I was surrounded by. It was so refreshing. Along with that, I got to work with one of my greatest inspirations, Kelly Clarkson. It was seriously a dream come true and I learned so much from her.

Bridge: I can’t imagine how incredible that was!

Has it been difficult coming down from the high of the show?

PT: It hasn’t been too difficult coming down from the high as of performing all the time, but I can say that I do miss being around like-minded people 24/7.

Bridge: I bet so. Artists absolutely need community!

What are you working on currently?

PT: I am currently traveling back and forth it seems like from California to Nashville, Tennessee working on writing, recording and releasing new music (an EP is on the way), as well as performing!

Bridge: Wow, that would have to be a rough commute.

I have to ask, what has it been like transitioning from California to Tennessee? In what ways does country music different from west coast to east coast?

PT: I personally feel like that there’s not too much of a difference at all! Mainly because of the fact that country music is so versatile in general. There’s a little bit of everything in all different corners of where I travel.

Bridge: That’s awesome! I wasn’t sure how much the vibe would differ!

So, what goals do you have for your music this year?

PT: I am definitely going to be performing a lot more this year as well as releasing so much new music! Make sure to stay updated on what to come through my social media which is @PresleyTennant.

Bridge: We absolutely will! Speaking of, do you have any shows coming up?

PT: I do have a few shows out in Florida this month! On August 25th, I’ll be in Clearwater at Rockhouse Live. On August 26th I’ll be at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, August 28th I’ll be at The Attic in Tampa and on August 29th, I will be at the Pegasus in Tampa!

Bridge: Dang, you have a nice little summer line up! Hopefully we will be able to catch one of those shows! I love live music at Hard Rock.

I’m curious, what artist would you love to collaborate with?

PT: There are SO MANY people that I would love to collaborate with so I couldn’t pick just one. A few that are in the top pick would be Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Carrie Underwood, Caylee hammock and so many more.

Bridge: Man, to write songs with those incredible artists would be a dream come true. I’ve been in a sassy mood and listening to a lot of Miranda Lambert lately, won’t lie (laughs)

You are also an incredible singer/songwriter, what song in history do you wish you had written?

PT: Another great question! I wish I had written “Girl Going Nowhere” by Ashley McBryde. That song to me, is so lyrically perfect. I definitely wish I wrote that song.

Bridge: I don’t think I’ve heard that one, I’ll have to go check it out!

And the artist tell all…If you had to pick any song to be the soundtrack of your life?

PT: Okay this might be a weird answer but I would say “Grow As We Go” by Ben Platt, but it would not be in a sense of being in a relationship and rather the company of myself. Basically meaning that not everything is set in stone, and I don’t know whats to come, but as long as Im learning, growing, bettering myself then its all worth it.

Bridge: That’s not weird at all, Ben Platt does a great job of making relatable music!

Well, thank you so much for taking the time to answer some questions, we will be looking out for those upcoming shows!

Keep up with Presley on social media and look out for her upcoming shows!
