This renaissance woman has proven herself a force to be reckoned with. Arbour just released her second official single,“FAME-ISH.”
Not one to shy away from important subjects, “FAME-ISH” focuses on how girls act online, why, and takes an introspective look at how tech, media, and everything in between cause women to adjust who they are to fit in. For such a heavy topic, she somehow manages to make it fun and light-hearted while still delivering the message in the most clever of ways. The feel-good video already has over 1.1 million views in just nine days, and the upbeat hook is stuck-in-your-head catchy.
It’s her knack as a writer that truly and consistently stands out to the masses. Flowing through her comedy, her songs, and her speeches, Arbour is a wordsmith.
In fact, her writing has been a hot topic as of late, but not in a way she would have ever imagined or wanted.
A copyright lawsuit was filed in the Middle District of Tennessee, Nashville Division alleging that the artist co-wrote three tracks on country rapper Ryan Upchurch’s new album “People’s Champ.” The album went to #2 on Apple Music charts and has millions of streams with no credit given to Arbour.
Though credit was denied, videos of the sessions were posted on social media in real-time and have been entered as evidence in the case. In one story, Upchurch is heard saying, “…Nicole just made this, check it,” with her in the background as he played one of the tracks listed in the copyright suit.
While the lawsuit is still ongoing, Arbour continues to create, to entertain, and to bring her infectious energy and positivity to social media and TV screens alike.
