Hailing from New York, New York, singer-songwriter (and hidden gem) Henry Michael is diving into the complexities of love and loss in his debut single, “Before You’re Gone.”

Drawing inspiration from his own experience, Henry’s heart is to resonate with listeners on a deep, relatable level. With “Before You’re Gone,” he does just that.

Gifted with a smooth and soothing vocal tone, his voice lends itself perfectly to the soul-deep lyrics and desperate plea that accompanies love lost. Influenced by the likes of Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, and Beyoncé, Henry brings a unique blend of storytelling and musicality to his debut.

“Before You’re Gone”

The track, written during the COVID-19 pandemic, reflects on the bittersweet nature of relationships and the struggle to let go. With its introspective lyrics and emotive piano melodies, “Before You’re Gone” invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences of love and loss.

Though Henry Michael is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, MA, he continues to stay true to his deep-rooted passion for music, planning more releases for later this year.

“Before You’re Gone” serves as a promising introduction to Henry’s talent and artistry and has placed him on my personal “artists to watch” playlist.
