NBC’s The Voice Star Spensha Baker Signs with Nashville Label, Red Street Records

Must Read

You probably know San Antonio export, Spensha Baker, as the monumentally talented fourth place finisher of Season 14 of NBC’s The Voice. However, for this vocal powerhouse, that was only the beginning.

Before The Voice, Baker started her career at a young age as a contestant on Star Search and even performing at the White House for George W. Bush.

She went on to release her first album, Outloud!, saying “That is the way I live my life: Openly. I want to succeed and fail out loud. I want to laugh out loud, breathe out loud, love out loud, and live out loud. Not only is this my personal anthem, but I’m positive it can be an anthem for everyone. It’s also the title track on my album.”

In 2018, when she auditioned for The Voice by performing “Blackbird” by the Beatles. She earned chair turns from Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton and ultimately chose to be on Team Blake.

A lot has happened since placing fourth on The Voice, notably Baker has relocated from the Lone Star State to Music City where the signing with Red Street Records has just been announced.

In a post from their official Instagram on Wednesday, Red Street said, “We could not be more thrilled to have Spensha Baker joining our artist roster! We are so excited for all that is ahead for this incredibly talented woman and can’t wait for everyone to hear what she has been working on!”

Home to Jason Crabb, Avalon, and Cade Thompson, to name a few, Red Street Records is a Nashville-based Christian music label founded by Jay DeMarcus, who you might know as 1/3 of a little band called Rascal Flatts.

On their website, Red Street Records states, “The desire of Red Street Records is to touch lives and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music. To that end, we seek to partner with musicians who share this aim and who strive to achieve it through their innovative and visionary craft.”

With a vision so worthwhile and so eternal, we can think of no better place for an anointed singer like Baker to call home. Here at Bridge Music Magazine, we especially and prayerfully look forward to hearing what comes out of this powerful collaboration.
