Nashville’s Taylor Bickett To Release Cosmic Love Song ‘Zodiac Sign’

Must Read

Nashville, TN – Nashville-based singer/songwriter Taylor Bickett will release her newest single, ‘zodiac sign,’ on April 8th, 2022.

An expert at weaving strands of fact, fiction, and pure emotion together in a melodically memorable way, Taylor Bickett has quickly become an artist to know. She found a devoted audience through TikTok with her narrative, heartstring-tugging songs such as ‘zodiac sign.’ zodiac sign’ is a dreamy indie pop song that puts a witty spin on star-crossed love. According to Taylor, there is a very real story behind the lyrics:

“One night, I found myself pining after someone, and in an act of desperation, I searched up our zodiac signs’ compatibility. We were decidedly… not astrologically compatible. The internet basically told me that I should give up, that the relationship was doomed from the start, but I don’t go down that easily. “The next day, I sat down and wrote ‘zodiac sign.’ It’s about being a hopeless romantic (and a bit of a stubborn one). It’s me saying, ‘all of the odds could be stacked against us and I’d still go for it. Screw what the stars say, we’re going to be the exception.’”

We recently sat down with Taylor to get to know more about her and her new single…

Bridge: How would you describe your sound to a first time listener?

TB:
Ultimately, I would describe my music as narrative – getting a story across is always my top priority. I wouldn’t say that it has a genre, but it lives in the world of indie-pop-singer-songwriter-music-for-people-who-like-to-hurt-their-own-feelings. 😉

Bridge: What inspired your new single? Tell us all about it!

The internet basically told me that I should give up, that the relationship was doomed from the start, but I don’t go down that easily.

Bridge: I love how you describe yourself as a professional over-sharer! What words of advice would you give those of us fellow over-sharers?

TB: Better out than in! Music is my catharsis, and sharing every little feeling I have through my music is the way that I stay sane. My advice is to find a passion to pour those feelings into, and to let yourself lean on your friends when things get tough – that’s what they’re there for.

Bridge: Do you have a go-to song you listen to in heavy times?

TB: “Looking for Space” by John Denver is my comfort song. It’s all about finding your way in the world and getting perspective, and there are few songs that I feel understand me as much as that one.

Bridge: What can we expect from you next?

TB: ‘zodiac sign’ is part of a larger project, which has yet to be officially announced, but it’s something I’m super stoked about!
