Toronto, CA — Hip-hop based label and production house Mad Fatti, which is co-founded by innovative multi-genre producer, songwriter, vocalist, creative director, and fashion designer Eva Shaw, has dropped an empowering single for its highly anticipated debut album.

Internationally recognized for chart-topping remixes for the likes of Rihanna, Ludacris, Fifth Harmony, David Guetta, and more, along with performances and residencies at premier festivals and nightclubs, Shaw knew that, once she reached a position of power, she wanted to do her part to help support the change she wished to see within the industry. Disillusioned with checking off boxes to fit a corporate image that wasn’t her as well as enduring misogyny from male peers and fans, she left behind partnerships with established labels to take control of her future. Following Mad Fatti’s recent launch, she now owns the music she puts out in the world and offers a safe, growing platform to underrepresented talent.

Distributed by Create Music Group, the single, entitled “24 Hrs”, features vocals from newly signed Mad Fatti artist DB Bantino, a frequent collaborator of Shaw’s. Combining styles across pop, rap, and R&B, it is meant to uplift audiences struggling to make ends meet. The concept resonated strongly with Shaw, who drew upon her own experiences of striking out on her own.

“We all have to decide how to spend the twenty-four hours given to us every day. I dedicated mine to my hustle and that’s what inspired me to create this single. I remember when I first moved from Canada to NYC, I barely had any money. There were moments I would even skip meals in order to save on rent. Thanks to some supportive family, friends, and connections, I managed to book modeling and DJ gigs to keep me afloat. As my career took off, I bought my own equipment and set up a mini production studio inside my apartment, always making sure I did what needed to b.e done”, explains Shaw. “However, like many women in this space, I still faced harassment, such as DMs asking me if I slept with someone to achieve my success. In a way, Mad Fatti was formed out of necessity. I’m much happier and confident now that no one can make or break me anymore. Since launching my own label, I’ve challenged myself to go beyond my EDM roots and evolve as an artist / producer. For my upcoming album, it was important to me to curate a lineup of emerging talent from diverse backgrounds. The end result is a culmination of everything I’ve done thus far and signals what lies ahead.”

The debut album, entitled SOLO, is slated to roll out in early Feb 2022. “24 Hrs” comes on the heels of the previously released: “Hennessy” (featuring Yung Tory & BTK Villeion), “RAW” (featuring Jaay Cee & G Milla), “DIAMONDS” (featuring THOUXANBANFAUNI and CHXPO), “40 Bands” (featuring Bolsen and Kris The $pirit) “CALABASAS” (featuring BTK Villeion), “F It, I Made It” (featuring BTK Villeion & G Milla), and “Bust Down” (featuring Fedd The God, Kris The $pirit, and Reeves Junya). Audiences can also look forward to her upcoming collaboration with Toronto’s own Pressa, which is scheduled to drop in January as well.

Best known for collaborations with Lil Jon, T-Pain, and Future as well as songwriting credits on Fox’s Empire and A&E’s Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G., DB Bantino was formerly represented by Rodney Jerkins’s Seventy7 / BMG Music Publishing. The single marks his and Shaw’s first work together after the former’s joining of Mad Fatti. According to DB Bantino, “Eva and I have developed a solid relationship over the years. Our processes complement each other sonically and we share the same drive to show people we’re the new wave. Whether in-person or remote, I know I can just record an idea and she’ll find unique ways to bring to life the audio and visual elements. It’s also a breath of fresh air having a female voice in a leadership role at the label. I couldn’t be more proud of my contribution to Eva’s upcoming album and look forward to when the rest of the project comes out.”

Shaw adds, “I was excited to welcome DB to our expanding Mad Fatti family and knew almost immediately that he was the perfect partner for this single. I‘ve always felt depth and honesty in his lyrics and that helps me set the mood for any project we team together on. We both also have huge respect for our parents, who busted their asses every day to make sure we would end up ok. That’s really what ‘24 Hrs’ and SOLO (the album) as a whole are all about: hustling against the odds.”

“24 Hrs” is available now across all Platforms.
