On Monday, the Queen of Pop announced “The Celebration Tour,” a compilation of four decades of her greatest hits.According to her website, the tour “will take us on Madonna’s artistic journey through four decades and pays respect to the city of New York where her career in music began.”
Madonna made the announcement with a nod to her 1991 documentary “Truth or Dare.” During the video announcement, Madonna and some of her celebrity friends like Amy Schumer and Lil Wayne, sit around a table and play a game of truth or dare in which Schumer challenges the “Vogue” singer to do a tour of her greatest hits.
“Wait, hold on, that’s a lot of songs,” Madonna says. “You think people would come to that show?”
Produced by Live Nation, the 35-city global tour will kick off July 15th at Roger’s Arena in Vancouver, BC.
“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for.”
Bring it on.
