MUMBAI — One of the world’s biggest music festivals is expanding to make its Asia debut in 2023.
Organizers announced Wednesday that the iconic festival will be making Mumbai the location for its Asia debut January 28th and 29th. This makes India the eighth country in the world to host the festival.
“For 31 years, Lollapalooza has travelled the world, with seven locations across three continents that annually host the event. Everyone feels at home at Lollapalooza, a festival that celebrates the culture of music, with inclusivity and unique experiences at the centre of it.”
-Lollapalooza organizers said in a statement Wednesday
The fan-favorite music festival, created as a farewell tour by Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, was launched in 1991 in Chicago.
The expansion is no surprise as Lollapalooza has editions in Germany, France, Sweden, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and more.
