“I had the title, ‘Rent Free,’ just because that phrase to me was so funny,” Levi shared about writing the song in an exclusive premiere with PopCulture. “It was like, ‘Yeah, oh my God, it lives rent-free in my head.’ And that was just such an obvious song idea. But then it’s like, ‘She lives rent-free in your head.’ And then the other side of that, it’s like, you were living with a girl that literally left and didn’t pay rent or whatever, and she lives rent-free in your head.”
The release is the latest look at what’s to come as Levi puts the finishing touches on a full-length project due out later this year. Fans were treated to the new single and more at his annual hometown show last month. Kicking off the year writing, recording and building his team, Levi is gearing up for some exciting announcements.
