Kourtney Kardashian Barker is opening up about having to undergo an “urgent fetal surgery” to save the life of her and husband Travis Barker’s unborn child.
In an Instagram post, the expectant TV star shared a powerful black-and-white photo of herself, connected to an IV, holding hands with her husband Travis Barker.
“I will forever be grateful to my incredible medical team for saving our baby’s life. My husband rushed back from his tour to be by my side in the hospital, and he has been my rock. I’d also like to thank my mom for her unwavering support through it all,” Kourtney expressed on Instagram.
Experiencing her first pregnancy complication, Kourtney went on to say, “As someone who had three smooth pregnancies previously, I wasn’t prepared for the fear that comes with urgent fetal surgery. Unless you’ve been through a similar situation, it’s challenging to grasp the depth of that fear. I now have immense respect and understanding for mothers who have had to fight for their babies during pregnancy. It’s truly a blessing to have walked out of the hospital with my baby boy safe in my belly. 🙏🏼🤍.”
A Night To Remember
Kourtney and Travis initially announced their pregnancy in a memorable way on June 16. At one of Travis’ Blink-182 concerts, the future Kourtney Kardashian Barker held up a sign that read, “Travis, I’m pregnant.” This gesture paid homage to the band’s 1999 music video for “All the Small Things.”
Throughout their pregnancy journey, the couple has shared heartwarming moments. However, on September 1, Blink-182 had to postpone several European tour dates due to a family emergency involving Travis.
“Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States,” the band announced on social media. “The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being rescheduled. Stay tuned for updates on Travis’ return to Europe and the new tour dates.” It wasn’t until September 4 that a source revealed to People about Kourtney’s “brief” hospital stay and confirmed that she is “now back home with her kids.”
“The insider also mentioned, “She is feeling better and is pleased to have Travis back home with her.”
