The high school drama is heating up once again as rumors swirl about a sequel to the classic teen comedy “John Tucker Must Die.” Stars Sophia Bush, Arielle Kebbel, and Jesse Metcalfe recently hinted at a sequel to the pop culture classic.
During a panel at a fan expo in Chicago, the trio teased fans with the news that a script for the sequel has been written, nearly two decades after the original film hit theaters. Metcalfe, known for his role on “Desperate Housewives,” revealed that while he hasn’t read the script yet, he’s heard it’s “amazing” and expressed his interest in reprising his role.
The original film, released in 2006, follows three girls who discover they’re dating the same guy and decide to team up to teach him a lesson. The movie was a hit and also starred Ashanti, Penn Badgley, and Brittany Snow.

Kebbel, who played one of the vengeful teenagers in the original film, hinted that the sequel could see Metcalfe’s character undergo some changes, teasing, “He may or may not get a chance to change,” adding, “it could be very exciting.”
Metcalfe, known for his charm and humor, joked about revisiting one of the film’s most memorable scenes, saying, “Do I get a chance to wear a thong again?” to which Kebbel playfully responded, “We were thinking you’d actually, like, make your own brand, endorse it. It’d be a whole thing.”
Fans of the original film took to social media to express their excitement, with many hoping for the return of the entire original cast. One fan wrote, “Screaming crying throwing up,” while another simply declared, “Best movie ever 😭.”
As the buzz continues to build, fans can only hope that the sequel gets the green light and that they’ll soon see their favorite characters back on the big screen.
