Triple Threat (and Mrs. Affleck) Jennifer Lopez is set to release “The Mother,” a Netflix thriller in May 2023.
The film was first announced in early 2021 and is just one of her multi-year deal with the streaming giant. During that time she will produce a number of film and TV titles, expanding her already monumental domination over the entertainment industry.
The thriller is centered around a deadly assassin who “comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she gave up years before.”
Joining Lopez is Joseph Fiennes and Gael Garcia Bernal (both playing “dangerous men”), Lucy Paez (as the daughter), Omari Hardwick (as an FBI agent and an ally to Lopez’s character), and Paul Raci (as another ally). Niki Caro, who lead the live-action Mulan remake, is directing.
