British Electronic band Depeche Mode (Dave Gahan and Martin Gore) have announced a new album and the band’s first live shows in five years. The band said this week that the album Memento Mori will be released spring of 2023.

The announcement comes months after the death of founding member, Andy “Fletch” Fletcher. “I’m sure that his absence in the studio in some way changes what we did, and that will happen when we perform on stage as well,” Gahan said. “We have no intention of replacing Fletch on stage. He did his own thing there.”

The North American leg of the tour will kick off in Sacramento, California in March 2023, continue in several cities in the U.S. and Canada and end with a show at Madison Square Garden on April 14th. From there, a massive area tour of Europe will follow.

Having sold more than 100 million records and played to more than 35 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force.
