Country-pop artist Adam Mac is bringing his signature, self-coined “funktry” sound to the genre with his brand new single “Dust Off Your Boots,” available today, Friday, June 14. Co-written by Adam Mac, Sonia Leigh and Jason Mater, the follow-up to his highly successful Disco Cowboy album builds and expands on his niche, disco-inspired songs that are winning over listeners of country music and beyond. Teasing the song on TikTok in the weeks leading up to the release, a call to action for an official “dance” to the song’s commanding bridge garnered over 1.4 million views, 193K likes and captured the attention of Meghan Trainor, Rosie O’Donnell and more. Following the exclusive premiere of the song via the official music video with People yesterday, “Dust Off Your Boots” is available everywhere now

Putting his spin on ‘camp,’ the music video, directed by Robby Stevens with creative direction from Ford Fairchild features a lively storyline full of vivacious energy, a bit of satire and of course, Adam’s infectious spirit and artistry. You can watch the official music video here

“…The queen from Kentucky does show off a hearty amount of moves in the music video for his new addicting single ‘Dust Off Your Boots,’” – People Country.

The Kentucky native shared the song during CMA Fest where he performed on CMA’s officially sanctioned Spotlight Stage within Fan Fair X as well as the Concert for Love & Acceptance presented by GLAAD and fellow LGBTQ+ country artist Ty Herndon. Later this month, he’ll lend his voice to another celebration of love and diversity as he takes the stage at Nashville Pride on June 22 as well as Anzie Blue in Hillsboro Village for the Pride Out Loud concert on June 24. Raised on ‘90s country and gospel music, the Russellville, Kentucky native was often bribed by his mother to sing during Sunday service. Adam’s early love of words and poems while growing up translated into songwriting after the passing of his best childhood friend at 18. It’s these influences alongside his rural Kentucky upbringing that have shaped the timeless artistry captured in his journey thus far. With Disco Cowboy, he earned praise from Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, People and Apple Music’s PROUD Radio, among others and opened for Maren Morris across select dates last summer. Adam’s ability to capture an incredible range of emotions with complete clarity and cohesion further cements his spot as a mainstay in the genre.
