Must Read

Kacey McClain is a solo singer and recording artist based in Los Angeles “Creating Real Honest Pop Music.” Her 2021 release “My Own Damn Paradise” has reached over 550K streams on Spotify to date!

Born and raised in Texas, she found herself drawn to California to pursue her dreams.

Positivity and uplifting energy are key, she always loves finding the silver lining. Her empowering lyrics and her unique creativity come to life in her music

We sat down with the singer to get to know a little more about her…

Bridge: What inspires you most as an artist?

KM: Well honestly life, and people inspire me as an artist. Some of the things that really inspire me with writing are the beach and my Dog Izzabella (Izzy), Meditation, and conversations with friends.
I can’t tell you how many times I have written lyrics because a friend said something that was either a good title or concept or said something that just got me thinking.

Bridge: What do you want your listeners to get from your music?

KM: I want them to feel inspired, empowered, like they are completely understood and like they can do whatever they set their mind too!

Bridge: What projects do you have going on right now?

KM: Well first off I will be releasing new music soon in early 2022 starting with a Single titled “Living life for me”. I’m finishing up a new music video that will be released after the single “Living Life For Me” and I’m super excited for everyone to see my nostalgic 90s/80s vibes in this video, I’m finishing the planning for a tour to be announced soon for late 2022, and I have a performance booked at the legendary Viper Room on March 3rd 2022 that I hope to see all of my SoCal/LA fans at because we have one hell of a show planned, and last but not least I am finishing writing my first full album written about my take on going through loss and grief this album is to be released in Early-Mid 2023 if all goes as planned.

Bridge: What song do you listen to when you are going through something?

KM: Depending on what type of life event I’m going through, and the mood I am in it defintely changes what song.
But my go to’s are: Stronger Woman or Hands by Jewel, My World or Here’s to never growing up or Best damn thing by Avril Lavigne, Bennie and the Jets by Elton John, Uptown Girl by Billy Joel, Gasoline or Girl is a gun by Halsey, Pity Party by Melanie Martinez, Born this way by Lady Gaga, That’s all I know so far or I’m not dead by P!nk and there’s so many others like I say depending on mood and what it is that I’m going through.

Bridge: What advice would you give your younger self as she was thinking of pursuing music?

KM: That is a great question (laughs) I would say a lot. But mostly to love who you are, to never let anyone no matter who they are or what they have accomplished make you doubt yourself physically, mentally or talent wise. You are beautiful and beyond talented, a bombshell and someday everyone will see, just be patient.
Be smart with your time and you will get to where you are supposed to in the time you are supposed to.
Nothing happens immediately but you should be proud of every accomplishment along the way.

Bridge: I love it! I think every young artist needs to hear that, I know I certainly did!
