It was hard to scroll on TikTok yesterday without seeing a clip from the “Don’t Worry Darling” film premiere in Venice that appeared to show Harry Styles spitting on co-star Chris Pine.

Countless fans and bloggers have dissected the video, providing many possible (and hilarious) explanations as to what they saw. A rep for Chris Pine, however, has finally made a statement.

“[It is] the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation,” the rep told Billboard. “Just to be clear, Harry Styles did NOT spit on Chris Pine … there is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”

The alleged disrespect is just one in a laundry list of drama surrounding the Olivia Wilde film, most of it surrounding Wilde herself.

Shia LaBeouf has entered the chat

Styles’ role of Jack originally belonged to Shia, but director Olivia stated that he was fired due to his “combative energy” on set. LaBeouf denied the claim, telling Variety he quit “due to a lack of rehearsal time.” A video was then leaked of Wilde making a plea to LaBeouf to give the project another chance.

In addition to that, Wilde was served custody papers on stage while promoting the film by ex Jason Sudeikis, an act that she says was “vicious.”

It’s anyone’s guess what will happen next in the Don’t Worry Darling drama but we have to say, the trailer for the film does look intriguing.
