Blake Shelton has announced his departure from NBC’s The Voice. Next season on the hit singing show will be his last. Shelton is the longest-tenured coach on The Voice and has won the show eight times.
“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from ‘The Voice,’” Shelton said in a statement via the network. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me.”
Shelton has been on the show since it first aired in 2011 and met his wife, Gwen Stefani, on the show when she became a coach in 2014.
Chance The Rapper will be joining the show and says he is “excited to help other artists get to the next level and make the most of this life-changing experience.”
Tune in to Season 22 of The Voice to watch Shelton alongside fellow judges Gwen Stefani, Camila Cabello, and John Legend.
