Iconic Icelandic artist, Björk just released “atopos” the lead single from her upcoming tenth album Fossora, set to release September 30th.
The video is one to remember, showing the singer in a mask amidst an apocalyptic underworld.
The singer announced the track on Twitter, saying the song is “kinda like Fossora’s passport. Fossora‘s name is derived from a feminine take of the Latin word for “digger.”
“It’s like digging a hole in the ground,” she said. “This time around, I’m living with moles and really grounding myself.”
The album comes as her first in five years, after 2017’s Utopia. If the lead single is any indicator, Fossora is sure to deliver in all the ways that we know Björk can.
