Today, Texas native americana singer-songwriter Kayla Ray has released her new album, The World’s Weight, available now via Real AF Records/Average Joes Entertainment.

“‘The World’s Weight’ is a vulnerable reflection of many of my life’s more recent chapters,”says Ray. “Challenge, triumph, love, and heartbreak are the fabrics of living and I really tried to explore this without shame or hindrance here. I’m so proud of this album and the fact that I got to create it with some of my sweetest friends. I can’t wait to put it into the world.”

The World’s Weight emerges as a moving testament to the human experience. Released via Real AF Records, an imprint founded by buzzworthy country crooner Bryan Martin, this long-awaited offering is a sonic journey through the tangled emotions of love, loss, and self-discovery. Recorded at Castle Row Studios in Oklahoma City and produced by Giovanni Carnuccio III, the album captures Ray’s distinctive blend of classic country and contemporary Americana, affectionately dubbed “Amerikinda.” From the twangy, freewheelin’ rhythms of “The Place I Fell In Love With You” to the heartfelt introspection of “Carolina Pines,” each track on The World’s Weight resonates with an authenticity that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Kayla Ray’s sonic journey from the sun-soaked streets of Waco, Texas to the iconic stages of Nashville is a testament to her unwavering passion and undeniable talent. Raised on a steady diet of classic country and honky-tonk melodies, Ray’s roots run deep in the heart of Texas, where she was baptized in the sounds of Bob Wills and Tanya Tucker. As she continues to craft her own unique sound, Kayla Ray remains a shining example of the rich musical heritage that flows through the veins of both Texas and Nashville.
