In one of the most moving videos I’ve seen this week, Today show hosts and staff surprised colleague Al Rocker at his NYC home.

The longtime “Today” show weatherman, 68, has been on leave from his job following recent hospitalizations for a blood clot that had traveled to his lungs. He returned home from the hospital last week and made his first appearance virtually on Monday but is yet unable to return to work in person.

“When the Rockefeller Tree was lit this December, it felt like it was missing its brightest star: our own Al Roker,” co-host Savannah Guthrie said in a segment that aired Wednesday. “Throughout his month-long hospital stay, we have all been waiting for the day we could wrap our arms around our sunshine.
